Thank you to all our customers present, past and future. We wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
2024 has been a busy year. Our Market Research side of NOA has led us to meet new and existing customers at their sites or via the wonders of TEAMS and “virtual meetings”.
Folding cartons and corrugated have had something of a bumpy ride over the last two or three years, with production down last year and bottoming out during 2024. Neil Osment, MD of packaging market research company NOA, looks at what the next few years might have in store for these major paper packaging formats.
Our research provides forecasts for the next 5 – 10 years for the supply of and demand for cartonboard and microflute corrugated packaging with a focus on board based barrier applications, arising out of the substitution of single use plastics.
It’s generally understood at all levels – government, industry, and consumer – that plastic packaging should move (indeed, is moving) towards greener alternatives. Neil Osment, from packaging market research company NOA, explores the opportunities for corrugated and folding cartons, looking specifically at food packaging that needs a liner.
With pressure mounting from consumers, legislators and retailers for substitutes for plastic packaging, there’s clearly an opportunity for fibre to grab market share from plastic – does barrier board provide the key? Neil Osment, Managing Director of paper packaging industry analysts NOA, takes a look.
