Have you seen significant work mix changes in paper packaging demand?

We have seen some big swings in market sector demand for paper packaging and in work mix; these changes have been far larger than we have ever seen in recent times in the paper packaging market. Demand for corrugated has changed so much in such a short period of time (think about how many Amazon parcels have been delivered to your street in recent months). We have been noticing some significant trends in demand in recent months:

  • The move away from 0201’s and to significantly more die cuts.
  • A leap in demand for taping specifications (for eCommerce applications).
  • A move away from “Retail” and towards “eCommerce” as end-use distribution channels.
  • Changes in board grades as a result of the above demands.
  • Corrugated market and how demands are changing rapidly.

Have you noticed these changes in demand too? Do you know where these changes in demand are leading?
