Jul 26, 2023 | Coaching and Mentoring, Marketing Best Practice, Recruitment

Are you looking for that one in a million?

In March to May 2023, the estimated number of vacancies in the UK was 1,051,000 (according to the Office of National Statistics). Whilst the number of vacancies is falling, If you are trying to fill one of those million vacancies you will certainly still be feeling the pain.

Recruiting great people is tricky. We’ve all heard about the skills gap, the great resignation, the big quit and the great retirement boom. This all means that it is harder for you to find excellent new team members.

What is your biggest hiring headache?

  • Finding time to recruit
  • Attracting the right candidates
  • Writing job descriptions
  • Posting job adverts
  • Reviewing applications
  • Shortlisting candidates
  • Interviewing candidates
  • Profiling candidates

These headaches can be removed by working with a partner who can handle your recruitment needs. Find out more here: NOA recruitment

Our recruitment tips for employers.

  • Know your deal breakers and ensure your recruiter knows them too – this saves a lot of time for everyone.
  • Be realistic – the job market is a bit like a roller coaster so ensure you are reasonable in your expectations for salary and experience.
  • Talk about your company culture at the interview – it’s vital to ensure that the candidate and your company are a fit.
  • Create time to see potential candidates fast – candidates get a feel for your business depending on how long you take to respond so it’s important to create the right impression from the start.

Make swift offers to suitable candidates – many employers are making offers during interviews so be prepared to discuss this at the end of the interview if you feel you have the right candidate.
