Following the prestigious European Federation of Corrugated Board Manufacturers (FEFCO) Summit in London, we give you five key facts about FEFCO…

1. FEFCO is a non-profit organisation that was founded in 1952 to represent the interests of the industry across Europe. Headquartered in Brussels, it is the European umbrella organisation of the corrugated board industry and regroups 24 national associations (active members), corresponding members (corrugated board producers in countries where there is no national association) and ‘sympathiser’ members (suppliers to the industry).

The role of the Federation is to investigate economic, financial, technical and marketing issues of interest to the corrugated packaging industry, to analyse factors which may influence the industry and to promote and develop its image. It also shares its expertise with key decision makers in the industry as well as compiling and providing annual industry statistics for member countries.

3. FEFCO’s core activities include promoting the many qualities of corrugated board, providing a service to its members by collecting and disseminating valuable information within the corrugated packaging industry, offering technical expertise in the field of corrugated board manufacture and organising events for members such as congresses and seminars on topical and current industry issues.

4. Its summit is held annually and is attended by more than 300 leading packaging professionals from all over Europe with the aim of promoting the benefits of paper – and in particular – corrugated – packaging.

5. At this year’s summit, delegates gathered to hear Simon Southern of NOA PRISM speak about ‘Corrugated Market Prospects’ – a presentation which covered a range of topics including the current European business and economic environment, forecasts for the industry, country prospects and future challenges.

We now work with numerous FEFCO members, so if you would like to learn more about FEFCO or to see a copy of Simon’s key address, give us a call or get in touch via the contact form on this website.
